Katie is a Vermont licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Prescribing Authority.
Katie is Board -Certified through the American Nurse Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
She is an active member of the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Psychotherapists & Practitioners as well as the Psychedelic Society of Vermont.
Katie brings over twenty years of experience in the field of healthcare and holds a Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from Frontier Nursing University, where she completed her Psychiatric Mental Health training and is ANCC certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and licensed with the state of Vermont as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN).
Katie’s work began as a Doulas of North America (DONA)-trained labor support Doula, working with incarcerated women, and then she went on to complete her didactic studies with Birthwise Midwifery School as a direct entry midwife. Katie brings over a decade of nursing experience in reproductive healthcare, substance use disorder (SUD), and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), specializing in working with marginalized and underserved populations living in rural areas. She has expertise in many modalities including maternal mental health, psychiatry and addiction medicine.
I am a strong believer in social justice and healthcare that is free from guilt and shame; I am passionate about supporting people on their healing journey to help them to become their healthiest, happiest, and most empowered selves.
Katie utilizes an integrative approach to complementary therapies (including medications) to better assist clients in their recovery. Katie is a National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) certified acudetox technician (CADT), certified recovery coach (CRC), and certified Ayurveda wellness coach, as well as advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certified.
Katie has completed over 500-hrs of psychedelic-assisted therapy training, including 100-hrs of training with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) in MDMA-assisted therapy and holds a certificate in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) from Polaris Insight Center. Her passion and commitment to psychedelic-assisted therapy is an integral part of the holistic care that she offers.
